Program EYC 2026: 1 year, but lasting effects

The program for EYC 2026 will be announced at a later date.

The activities and initiatives will be categorized under the goals SUSTAINABLE, INCLUSIVE and CREATIVE, and each month will bring a mix of events, conferences, workshops, projects, collaborations, and celebrations that align with the values of Tromsø as the European Youth Capital 2026.

Tromsø municipality is the project owner and is responsible for the project management of the initiative. In the spring of 2024 we are now building the EYC-team and fundraising for the project.

The financing of the project will have an impact on which initiatives and activities are prioritized in EYC in the years 2024-2028. What is clear is that in Tromsø’s EYC 2026 program the aim is to create a participatory process that supports youth participation at all levels. This vision is rooted in Tromsø municipality’s commitment to ensure that young people are not just recipients of the programme, but active contributors and leaders.

Broad cooperation locally, regionally, nationally and on European level
Tromsø EYC 2026 is a collaborative project between Tromsø municipality and public and private partners in the region and the country as a whole. The project is open to all partners who wish to engage in their own activities or initiate collaborations aimed at young people between 15 and 35 years old under the theme “youth participation and active young citizenship” and the project’s main pillars “SUSTAINABLE”, “INCLUSIVE” AND “CREATIVE”.
